General Adoption Information

All kittens and cats are sterilized prior to adoption, tested for FELV/FIV and vaccinated. Our adoption fee is $75.

Our kittens generally come from feral colonies and from tame abandoned females. Without human intervention, these kittens would grow up wild and continue the feral cycle. Our foster parents lovingly socialize them into wonderful companions for adoption.

Our adult adoptable cats are not feral. Our volunteers often discover tame strays trying to survive by living on the fringes of feral cat colonies, most likely abandoned with the mistaken belief that they could "fend for themselves." Some are the tame mothers of feral kittens. When our adult cats come to us, they are often traumatized, starving, or injured. RMACA provides medical attention, and our foster families provide a safe, warm, and loving environment in which these cats can recover while they await their lifelong homes. Adult cats give adopters the advantage of choosing the best purrsonality for their home!

Except in very rare circumstances, we generally do not adopt cats or kittens outside of the Denver metro area.
